Changing the exhaust is a very good upgrade in a tuning program. It's one of the most important aftermarket parts, and if you're looking for a performance increase, with a power and torque gain, exhaust mods are always recommended.

The Supersprint full sport exhaust for  the Aventador LP700 is composed by:
 - Y-pipe kit, right after the headers, that merges the flow coming from the four 3 into 1 stock headers into the two main pipes, one for each cylinder bank. These y-pipes are available with 100 CPSI sports cats, or without ( decat pipes / test pipes )
- Rear exhaust, available with bypass valves or as straight pipes.

The catalytic converters are HJS metallic cats with 100 cells per square inch ( CPSI ). They are much more efficient and free-flowing but at the same time offer an optimal reduction of pollutant gas.
All sensor bungs are present and in the same positions as on the OEM parts.
The decat / catless version is usually recommended for track use, it's lighter and requires a ECU tune / reprogramming.
The O2 sensor issue must be addressed.
Both Y-pipe kits involve a consistent increase of sound and more backfire on the lift-off and during the gear changes.
The cat-equipped parts are 12.3 KG against 14.9 of the stock components.
The decat pipes are around 8 Kg.
The valve-fitted version of the Supersprint rear exhaust maintain the dual loud / quiet functionality. The valves are connected to the OEM pneumatic control pipes, the electronic management doesn't change.
Differently from the OEM system, the Supersprint system in open (loud) mode is a real direct pipe, with just an x-pipe that connects the two main lines for a better power delivery compared to two simple straight pipes.
The closed (quiet) section is composed by a direct flow silencer with an integrated x-pipe.
The sound is deeper, meaner and more aggressive in both modes. The stock secondary cats, originally fitted inside the stock muffler, are eliminated for less weight and better flow and performance.
The comfort onboard remains very high in closed mode thanks to the good sound proofing of the cabin and the silencer design.
The weight is 20 KG, 8 less than stock.
The rear "X-Pipe" ("straight pipes")  is very simple and light. It sacrifices the valve functionality in favor of the most aggressive sound, race-car like, all the time. Like the name suggests, there is a connection between the two main lines, for improved and optimal power delivery.
At approximately 6 kg, it's a massive 22 kg less than stock.

Following our very long tradition (est.1955), the main target of a Supersprint exhaust is not to change the nature of the car, loosing comfort in the process, but to make the engine note more pleasant and distinctive, without being excessive, but even more important, to increase the performance. We still offer a louder, more aggressive setup for enthusiasts.
For the tips, or exit pipes to be precise, we kept 4 single elements, also because of the design of the valve system. Their shape is round, with a slightly flattened top and bottom. They remain inside the OEM outlet, integrated in the bumper, but the trained eye can easily see there's a special component behind it.

The performance gain with the metallic cats and valve system compared to the stock setup, measured on our in-house MAHA dyno, is:

+ 11 hp of peak power at 8200 rpm
+ 11,6 hp @ 3000 rpm
+ 10,2 hp @ 6300 rpm
+ 12,2 hp @ 7400 rpm

+ 11,2 nm of peak torque at 5850 rpm
+ 27,6 nm @ 3000 rpm
+ 11,9 nm @ 6300 rpm

When installing the Supersprint R&L catalytic system, please make sure that the new, oem additional heat shield already is also installed on the car (right side only).

This heat shield comes on all of the Aventador models, starting from 2014 an on.
On the previous models, this was not used.

Unfortunately, there is no informations available to us yet, on which VIN cars are not equipped with the shield, possibly having an insufficient protection against exhaust heat build-up.
Since we have learned that  no official recall has been issued from the Factory yet, it is mandatory to check about this, with your own Lamborghini dealer, first.

The absence of this shield can cause some minor damage to the rubber lines, running in the upper area of the manifold/headers -to- catalytic conjunction (right side only).
Under extreme driving conditions, this type of damage can happen with the stock catalytic, as well as with the Supersprint catalytic in place, although the Supersprint HJS metallic cats provide for a much lower heat retention, in the critical area surrounding the exhaust system, within the engine bay.

Once the additional shield in installed, the proper protection against any potential damage is ensured.

Please see the photos, and double check with your own Lamborghini dealer, wether the recall has been issued in the meantime, and carried out already.
