Correct reading of symbols
Here is the newly developed, stainless full exhaust, from turbo back, for the 2018 Renault Megane R.S.
In stock form, the 1.8l engine is set to run in a high state of tune (boost pressure is 1.6 bar), making great torque at low rpm, and a Hp peak slightly below 280.
However the pressure drops down rather abruptly, at 5200 / 5400 rpm, acting as a limiter for the hp and the torque curves at higher rpm, throughout the 7000 redline.
The engine revs, but it makes less power when higher up in the powerband.
The std, restrictive catalytic and the rich fuel mapping do not help.
By changing to the Supersprint downpipe and exhaust, and by re-tuning the ECU accordingly, this car easily walks past the 300hp barrier.
Also, the SS mid pipe and rear muffler provide for a much nicer, deep, richer sound, with no droning.
A totally different note from the raspy character of the stock exhaust.
