Supersprint has developed a new exhaust system for Audi RS Q3 2.5 TFSI.
It’s compatible with both the pre and post face lift 2015 models
The system is composed by a turbo downpipe and a front section with or without high flow cats similar to the ones for the TT-RS e RS3 8P.
The centre, with or without resonator, and rear sections are brand new.
Many owners of this model has requested a dual system, with right + left exits, to re-create the family feeling with the rest of the RS range (TT, RS4,RS6…)
Audi has gone for a single Audi oval tip on the left, with the battery box on the right.
We had to design a solution to route the pipes around this box, and to modify the diffuser to create the valance on the right.
On the development car this modification was done by a body workshop, they even re-created the internal lip for a very nice OEM-like look.
Another distinctive element of the RS Q3 stock exhaust is the electrical bypass valve, controlled by the ECU.
It opens at start up and above 3500 rpm in Comfort mode, while it remains open all the time in Dynamic mode.
The target of this system was to keep a nice and growly but subtle tone in closed mode, for comfortable cruising in the daily use, while giving the highest possible sound differential at the opening of the valve, with a very aggressive sound, much like a Group B Audi Quattro.
The rear silencer has been designed from scratch for this specific application. The valve, compatible with the OEM electric motor, is designed and manufacture internally at Supersprint.
Aside from the valved exhaust, a traditional passive system is also available, with a single exit on the left or dual, with the usual Supersprint exhaust characteristics, direct flow design and sound proportional to the revolutions of the engine.
A quad exit system is also available, with or without valve.
