Supersprint has developed a new exhaust system for the Audi A6 S6 fitted with the new twin-turbo 4.0 V8 420 Hp engine.
The target for this system was a decisively sportier sound and greatly characterized by the typical V8 tone, which is much silenced and almost silent with the stock setup.
At the same time the comfort on long journeys wasn't to be ruined, given the nature of this car.
The resulting system, fitted on the develpment car, is composed by:
-Connecting pipes for OEM cats
-Unsilenced front pipes
-Unsilenced centre pipes, with an H-pipe that works actively on the sound tuning through pressure waves.
-Rear silencer, with a specific and custom-built internal structure, designed to keep the low frequency in check, avoiding unwanted drone, and give voice to the engine while driving fast and in the upper rev range.
The tailpipes choosen for this car are 100x75mm, slash cut, black chromed. The production-spec items may vary.
These end pipes fill perfectly the OEM bumper arches.
The turbo downpipes and catalytic converters haven't been developed yet, but will come in the near future.
The system, as usual at Supersprint, has been perfected on the MAHA dynamometer, and the result is quite good, with a 20 hp max power gain, better torque in the low range and more power at high revs.
Concluding, a system that doesn't change the intrinsic nature of the car, but give character and greatly increase the pleasure at the wheel.
This system is also compatible with the Audi A7 S7.
