Almost 20 years ago, the Supersprint R&D Team did an amazing job with the seemingly impossible task of  designing a 4-1, long primary headers system for this car, squeezing it within the tight confines of the extremely narrow Z8 engine bay.

While most tuners at the time thought that the stock headers system already was the best design possible, given the limitations of the small space available, one of them, the late Richard Hamann from Germany, founder and owner of Hamann Motorsport, had a different idea.

Sharing  the same opinion with him, we agreed to put our efforts together, and in no time our Team started working on one of earliest released, spanking new Z8 cars.

The goals were very clear, carved into stone; Best Performance, without compromise, Easy Installation, Total Reliability.

Only one month, yet many dyno runs later, the first Supersprint Z8  headers was ready.

The full headers + exhaust, with its HJS Motorsport high flowing cats, set the record of + 40 Hp. Mission accomplished!

In the process, we patented our floating-flange, individual sealing ring collector design; both in the USA and worldwide.

Built in limited q.ty at the beginning, the demand quickly exceeded all of the preliminary expectations.

In the first year alone,  Hamann Motorsport sold over 100 sets.

Overnight, the Supersprint long tube headers became the must-have, primary performance addition for the S62 engine.

While the Z8 Roadster grew to cult car status, 20 years later we still offer the same headers to the lucky owners, built with the exact same specifications as our originals'.
